Specimen Handling
Centrifuge sample within 24 hours of collection. If tube other than a gel-barrier tube is used, or if sample will be shipped frozen, transfer separated serum to a screw-cap polypropylene transport tube. Ship refrigerated (preferred) or frozen.
Unacceptable Conditions
Gross hemolysis, obvious microbial contamination, and/or received outside of specimen and/or storage and/or labeling requirements. Heat-inactivated samples. Cadaveric samples.

Refrigerated (Preferred) Room Temperature: 24 hours Refrigerated: 6 days Frozen: Up to 14 days
