Allow tube to fill completely. Collect a discard tube when using a butterfly collection system to avoid QNS specimens.
If testing cannot be performed within 4 hours (heparinized patients) or 4 hours (non-heparinized patients) of collection, prepare 'Platelet Poor Plasma'.
