Specimen Container
Specimen for Giradia should be submitted in the Para-Pak Zn-PVA/Formalin containers and not the SAF Fixative. The PVA nad Formalin dual vial collection kit allows for reflex to comprehensive ova and parasite testing if needed.
Specimen Handling
Submit in a parasite preservative kit. Please inoculate both the Para Pak pink and gray containers.

Unacceptable Conditions
Because parasite morphology will not be preserved, specimens sent on diaper or tissue paper are not acceptable to the laboratory because of risk to lab personnel. ; Grossly leaking specimen may not be processed. ; Unlabeled specimen or name discrepancy between specimen and test request label, expired transport device: specimens not received in Parp Pak containers.
