Arterial blood
Samples >4 hours old
Clotted, hemolyzed, and overfilled or underfilled tubes
Refrigerated or frozen specimens
Centrifuged tubes
Tubes containing anticoagulant other than 3.2% Sodium Citrate
Blue top tubes from other manufacturers
Samples received in the dumbwaiter or tube system
Samples that are not received upright
