Accreditation
Saint Patrick Laboratory is accredited by the Joint Commission and American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). The Joint Commission and AABB are independent, not-for-profit national organizations that oversee the safety and quality of health care including laboratory services. Compliance is maintained through bi-annual laboratory surveys performed by Joint Commission, FDA, CMS and AABB. Laboratory also participates in a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)-accredited external audit system. College of American Pathologists (CAP) and American Proficiency Institute (API) provide proficiency testing that challenges the integrity of internal testing methods.
