Gel Agglutination Testing, Tube Agglutination Test Clinical Significance: Useful for blood typing, antibody screening, and to assess eligibility of mother for RhoGAM® treatment. Note: If screen is positive, an antibody identification will be performed at an additional charge.

Draw a full, large lavender-top (EDTA) tube (Adult/Pediatric: 7mL min/Neonates:0.5 mL min) . (Serum gel tube is not acceptable.) Send EDTA whole blood refrigerated in original VACUTAINER®. Fill tube completely. Do not centrifuge.

A descriptive report will be provided. Critical value (automatic call-back): difficulties in typing or crossmatching which may result in blood not being available for transfusion or surgery
